Router Passwords

To get into the router’s control screen, you’ll need the username and password.

On the back of the router or in the instructions, you can find the IP address, username, and password.

Note: The IP numbers 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1, 10.0.0.1, 192.168.1.254, and 192.168.100.1 are the defaults for many routers.

You should probably change the default login information if you’re not sure what it is.

The following table shows the usual login information for the most popular router types.

FAQs

Ans. You may generally find the default username and password in the manual or handbook for your router, or on a sticker on the underside or back of the device. It’s fairly uncommon for admin to be the default user name, and password to be the default password.

Ans. Pick one that’s at least 12 characters long and includes both upper- and lowercase letters, digits, and special characters. Passwords should be easy to remember.
